Today, we depart Lake Garda and fly non-stop from Verona to Olbia, where we are met and privately transferred to the most gorgeous stretches of the Costa Smeralda. Nestled along the island’s northeastern coast lies our destination, a legendary 1960s beachside sanctuary. Originally founded by the Aga Khan IV in 1964, this property helped shape the Emerald Coast's high-society identity, drawing international socialites, royalty, and style connoisseurs to its shores.

Our home on Sardinia is the Romazzino, A Belmond Hotel, a refined seaside retreat that captures the timeless glamour of Sardinia. Surrounded by fragrant Mediterranean gardens and overlooking a pristine white-sand beach with crystal-clear waters, the hotel blends traditional island architecture with elegant, contemporary comfort. Guests can enjoy spacious rooms with private terraces, exceptional dining inspired by local flavors, and a tranquil atmosphere designed for relaxation. Each day we have included breakfast and dinner at the Belmond, which offers an elegant al fresco dining experience overlooking the turquoise waters of the Costa Smeralda. Framed by lush Mediterranean gardens and soft sea breezes, the restaurant serves refined Italian and Sardinian cuisine, highlighting the freshest local ingredients and seasonal flavors.

After we arrive, the balance of the day is for relaxation and personal exploration. We will dine together under the stars this evening.

Departing from Hotel Romazzino, we will travel through the island's beautiful inland landscapes towards Mamoiada, a charming village renowned for its deep-rooted cultural heritage and exceptional longevity. Upon arrival, there may be the opportunity to meet local centenarians—an inspiring encounter that offers a rare glimpse into the lifestyle, values, and traditions that have contributed to Sardinia's remarkable reputation as one of the longest-living regions in the world.  

While in Mamoiada, our journey includes a visit to the renowned Museum of Mediterranean Masks, home to the iconic Mamuthones and Issohadores masks, symbols of Sardinia's most ancient and mysterious carnival traditions. Through a collection of exhibits and stories, the museum provides an engaging introduction to the island's unique cultural identity.  

The journey then continues to nearby Orgosolo, another community in the Blue Zone. Famous throughout Sardinia for its striking open-air art gallery, Orgosolo offers a guided stroll through its historic streets, where hundreds of colorful murals transform the village into a living canvas. These powerful artworks tell stories of local history, social change, and Sardinian culture, creating a truly distinctive atmosphere.  

During our day, we experience authentic Blue Zone cuisine with a traditional lunch at a local agriturismo, where authentic Sardinian cuisine is celebrated through seasonal ingredients, regional specialties, and warm hospitality. This leisurely dining experience provides an excellent opportunity to savor the island's genuine flavors while enjoying the relaxed rhythm of rural Sardinian life.
